Michael Harrell is an interior designer and the proprietor of Harrell and Marvin Interiors, a studio located in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan. 
Michael Harrell has worked with dozens of residential clients in southwest Michigan to transform 1,500-square foot downtown lofts, 8,000-square foot homes, and everything in between. 

The range of styles employed in design projects runs the gamut from contemporary to traditional – reflecting Harrell’s belief that the personality of the client is at the heart of design. “Interior design must start with what the client envisions, in keeping with the style of architecture,” Harrell says. “Ultimately, a person’s home needs to be an extension of the individual or family’s character.”

Since 2001, Harrell has made interior design his primary focus. But Michael Harrell’s interior design experience spans more than 30 years and began in the furniture industry of his native North Carolina. “My grandparents on my mother’s side were in the furniture industry,” he explains. “And decorating was a passion for my mother and her sisters. So early on I was exposed to interior design as a creative pursuit.”
